Coaster changes announced 

Brighton & Hove buses have just announced their long awaited changes to Coaster services from July.

Among the changes is a reorganization of all the routes 12, 12X & 14, along with an extension to route 23 to Peacehaven and new stops for the express services. Night buses are also increasing (see below).

Changes in brief:

- 12 replaces 12A

- Peak only Avis Way removed

- 12X & 13X increased 

- New 'X' stops at Slindon Avenue and Beacon Road.

- 14 extended to Newhaven (with new Sunday buses)

- 14A, 14B & 14C all withdrawn

- 23 extended to Peacehaven 

- N12 & N14 to Hourly

11X Withdrawn 

It has been announced that service 11X will not be retuning for the 2026 summer season.

The route, primarily for Middle Farm and Drusillas, was introduced in 2019 to help get families to these had to reach attractions on summer Sundays. The route was suspended during 2020 due to the pandemic. More recently it has been cut back from Easter to the six weeks holiday only.

The decision to remove the service is down to a low number of passengers using the route.

Passengers can get to Drusillas direct from Eastbourne on Tuesdays to Saturdays by routes 24, 25 and Sunday 26 which also runs from Seaford. Route 47 Cuckmere Rambler also serves on Spring and Summer weekends.

There remains a desire by our MP to improve services along the A27 corridor.
